Food was high quality, staff was super friendly. We booked standard twin room that was complete with the beginnings of the Askham Hall estate, large TV, the bathroom as advertised.
The staff were not experienced, didn't expect that coming.

Also, don't forget to look at Church of st Michael, it's right next to the property. All the staff members are lovely and obliging.

Little place, great for weekend. Variety of amazing food for meals. Location short walk to McMillan mighty hike, excellent road network and Northern lakes. Besides, easy to get to Askham Hall Gardens and Cafe. What a really enjoyable stay, no complaints whatsoever.

Tom
The room was lovely with great facilities, and the bed was unbelievably comfy. The staff were very welcoming and polite, and the food was superb. The inn is set in a wonderful location, with some original features.
In terms of maintenance, as the window in my room was difficult to open and the catch was loose. The breakfast could have been better, as the selection was average and the cutlery and coffee cups had a perfume smell.
